Connects Adds Employee Feedback Surveys for One Unified Solution

March 15, 2023

We have created a diagnostic employee feedback survey tool through its employee engagement platform, Connects. A collaboration between Inspirus and human insight partner, The Happiness Index, now gives organizations a single solution that measures employee sentiment and delivers insights that can improve employee engagement strategies, elevate company culture, and drive business success.

Employee feedback is a baseline “must-have” for shaping the culture of today’s modern organization. What’s the next level? Imagine having a holistic view of how employees are thinking and feeling that goes far beyond typical feedback surveys. Inspirus provides just that, providing access to a full suite of diagnostic employee feedback survey tools through its employee engagement platform, Connects. A collaboration between Inspirus and human insight partner, The Happiness Index, now gives organizations a single solution that measures employee sentiment and delivers insights that can improve employee engagement strategies, elevate company culture, and drive business success.

Each pre-built employee survey uses neuroscience to help organizational leaders understand how employees are thinking and feeling. Neuroscience is a proven, science-based methodology that considers the structures, reactions, and psychological behaviors of all humans, uniting the head and the heart. Emotions have long been taboo in the workplace but neuroscience shows us that they’re an essential part of being human and are, in fact, the key to understanding employees.

Survey questions prompt employees to rate their responses on a sliding scale between 1 and 10 and the answers are anonymous, not traceable back to any individual. There’s even space to provide additional comments for context. Client administrators can access their survey dashboard through Connects, allowing them to see valuable employee insights including cross-themed analysis, heatmaps, sentiment analysis, and key driver analysis. The net result is digestible data that organizations can put into action right away to elevate their culture and deliver a fantastic employee experience.

Why are a positive culture and engaged employees so important? Positive cultural health directly impacts employee retention, morale, and business success. By measuring employee feedback, organizations can use REAL data to adjust their people strategy, deliver a more positive employee experience, and build the thriving workplace culture that fuels business success.

Here is an overview of the surveys available to Connects users:

Workplace Culture Surveys

The Cultural Assessment Survey is a baseline survey to evaluate an organization’s cultural health. The 22-question survey uses neuroscientific methodology to measure both engagement and happiness levels. This survey captures live insights into key engagement and happiness drivers so leaders can see what’s working and what’s not. The Cultural Assessment dashboard includes benchmarks, filter comparisons, heatmaps, and other insightful tools that will enable leaders to visualize and analyze the feedback they gather from employees.

The Employee Voice Survey is a tool available 24/7 that gives employees the ability to share their feedback anonymously, so they feel heard and valued – key ingredients to employee engagement. The ability to objectively measure employee sentiment gives organizational leaders direct sightlines into how employees are thinking and feeling, so they can address recurring themes and adjust their people strategy in real time. Employee Voice is available to every Connects user, regardless of package level.

eNPS measures the employee experience, similar to how an NPS survey measures customer satisfaction. It can be used at any time to understand the team's employee experience. The results include benchmark scores against similar organizations or internally to measure, track and understand the success of the organization’s people strategy.

Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) Surveys

The Equality of Voice Survey helps leaders understand diversity, equality, and inclusion in within the organization. To be happy, employees must feel they have a voice and that they truly belong in their organization. The Advancing Racial Equity Survey empowers employees to give feedback freely on key racial and diversity topics prevalent within the organization, allowing leadership to dig deeper and tell the real story of DEI progress over time.

Organizational Change Surveys

Change management is always challenging. Support organizational change by inviting a dialogue about how employees think and feel. The Remote Working Survey and Mergers and Acquisitions Survey allow organizations to learn how employees feel about their current culture, how the culture is being affected by change, and how to use that feedback to build a positive culture.

Vision and Values Surveys

LinkedIn reports the magic formula to attract and retain top talent is corporate values, culture, and sustainability — this is what places the top 100 companies ahead of all their competitors. Connects offers three surveys to dive deeper into this area. The Values Index reveals how aligned employees feel with the organization’s vision and values. The ESG Survey (environmental, social and governance) probes what employees think and feel about the organization’s ESG strategy. PWC noted that 76% of consumers are more likely to buy from (and 83% of employees more likely to work for) a company that stands up for its social responsibility, and those two surveys demonstrate that effort while measuring efficacy as reflected in employee sentiment. The Recognition Impact Index Survey seeks to help leaders understand whether employees feel recognized (a key employee happiness driver) and solicits feedback to measure the impact of the rewards and recognition program, giving organizations actionable insights on how to improve their recognition strategy.

Well-being and Mental Health Surveys

Most employee well-being surveys fall short because they only focus on measuring individual well-being levels and the impact of specific initiatives. The well-being and mental health surveys within Connects are more holistic and designed around three pillars: mental health, physical health, and support from the organization and managers. The Wellbeing Index Survey identifies well-being and mental health challenges to help build and maintain a happy, healthy workforce. The Mental Health Survey uncovers barriers to positive mental health for employees like burnout, pressure, stress, worry, sadness, and other factors.

Neuroscience Themed Surveys

Dive deeper into the lowest-scoring neuroscience themes revealed by the reports and create a robust action plan to improve engagement and happiness scores in specific areas. The eight neuroscience themes are:

  • Safety: Safety is a key element of workplace happiness. It is linked to the Amygdala, one of our oldest brain structures. A lack of safety directly impacts people’s fight or flight response, and consequently productivity and engagement.
  • Freedom: Feeling free to be themselves and being accepted as a human capable of doing their job are both key to happiness in the workplace.
  • Relationships: Relationships are statistically proven to be one of the leading reasons for retainment and attrition. It’s important to understand how employees feel AND think about their relationships in the workplace.
  • Acknowledgement: Acknowledgement links to the emotional brain system. Feeling heard and understood are key to feeling happy and engaged in the workplace.
  • Personal Growth: Probe how employees see their career development and growth trajectories. This will help support and nurture their growth and build high-performing, happy, and engaged teams.
  • Meaning & Purpose: Increasingly, people are looking for their job to align with their personal ethics, but also want to bring true value to the work they do. This survey offers insight into how to better achieve this.
  • Clarity: Clarity is all about communication, understanding, and feeling empowered to complete the work expected. This survey enables a better understanding of how the organization is performing in this area.
  • Enablement: In order for people to reach full engagement at work, leaders must provide what they need to do their jobs and the empowerment to take control of their workload. This survey uncovers employees’ perceptions of their workload and the resources available to them.

Employee Lifecycle Surveys

The employee journey starts from pre-hire and extends all the way through retirement or separation. To support the entire journey, it’s crucial to measure how employees think and feel every step of the way. Three employee lifecycle surveys help organizational leaders collect this valuable data. The Onboarding Survey gives organizations insight into what new hires are thinking and feeling (often unobstructed by the baggage they acquire as their journey progresses). The Exit Survey polls individuals leaving the company to capture their thoughts and feelings so organizations can make adjustments that will improve the culture for those who stay. The Return-to-Work Survey keeps leaders’ fingers on the pulse of the physical, emotional, and mental well-being of employees as they return to work after being separated due to serious health conditions, childbirth, adoption, military leave or other life circumstances.

Forbes recently reported what Inspirus and The Happiness Index have long known to be true: creating an amazing employee experience is the secret sauce for improving company culture. And who better to understand what employees need, than employees themselves? Capturing, analyzing, and actionizing employee feedback gives organizational leaders the data they need to take action that helps employees feel more engaged, improves workplace culture, boosts retention, and ultimately drives lasting bottom-line results.
