Patti Traglio, Director Business Development, Inspirus, Sodexo Benefits and Rewards Services, nominated the winner, Amy Thompson, Executive Vice President and Chief People Officer of Mattel. Inspirus sponsored, designed and donated the crystal awards given to the winner and all finalists.
A rigorous nomination process produced five finalists for the 2021 Executive of the Year award. All finalists underwent a 360-degree assessment, a panel interview by their peers, and a video session with their team. Each finalist represented a critical industry within the Los Angeles business community. Pictured from L to R:

Thompson took the top honor, being recognized for her outstanding work in transforming Mattel’s culture. Along with Mattel leadership team, she championed the company’s mission and values and ensured optimal collaboration across the entire organization operating in 35 countries. As Chief People Officer, Thompson oversees all global human resources functions for its 30,000+ associates and has a proven track record of being a purpose-driven leader and implementing programs to increase employee engagement and improve organizational design and accountability.

The evening gala celebrated the winner, finalists, all human resources executives, and those in the HR community within Los Angeles. Previous winners included Dina Barmasse, Cheesecake Factory (2019); Cindy Ballard, ICM (2018), Glenn Grindstaff, L3 (2017) and Bob Turner, LA Care Health Plan (2016).
